The paper shows that implementation of mobile technologies regarding their affordances can accomplish student’s comprehension in remotely conducting engineering and scientific measurement and in participating in activities from different locations. Collaboration of these modules with mobile platforms and hardware controller causes the potential communication between m-learning-participants and experimental equipment.

Furthermore, conceptual design of the proposed modules consists of mobile internet/software platforms, remote controller, user interface and portable-multimedia-device sensor network. Affordances of mobile technologies are presented herein concerning usability, functionality, portability, consistency, and security.

The architectural framework of learning module is proposed specifically for constructing engineering and scientific remote laboratories.

MediaPortal 2.1 is available now as a free, open-source download for PCs running Windows 7 or later. This paper presents utilization of mobile technologies for supporting distance learning system in open universities or online courses. The update also fixes hundreds of bugs and includes numerous other minor changes and improvements. Additionally, the BlueVision skin gains three new themes: Windows 10, Titanium Extended and Grey. Previously, MediaPortal mounted media resources as separate drives – to avoid confusion these are now merely mounted as regular folders.Ī new WMC skin has been added, allowing users to access MediaPortal in an environment similar to the now-defunct Windows Media Center. Those using MediaPortal to access online video content will be pleased to learn that support for DRM-protected content such as Amazon Prime has been added. TV audio support has also been broadened. MediaPortal’s TV engine now supports broadcasts in HEVC/H.265 video such as DVB-T2 HD broadcasts from Germany. Users also gain the ability to enjoy season fanart and both sort and filter content by metadata. Users gain the ability to filter movies into collections (aka movie sets), plus new percentage indicators help gauge how much of a movie set or TV season has been watched. MediaPortal 2.1 introduces a new skin based on the late, lamented Windows Media Center.
